Two key issues emerged: whether a "resort community" is viable and the role of planners in relation to serving the diverse interests of stakeholders in these locales. The study identifies the importance of a regional framework for strategic planning and the need for more research, in particular, to enable mountain communities to track their amenity migrants. The pros are better and more cost-effective in higher drain devices like transmitters and such. This thesis examines the nature of amenity migration, its effects and related planning strategies and practices through a case study of the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) and surrounding environs The goal of this study is to provide a descriptive overview of amenity migration in relation to the RMOW and region, primarily from the perspectives of selected key stakeholders as well as documentation from several RMOW and regional sources For some time, the RMOW has been known as a world class destination resort and a progressive leader in various aspects of planning and sustainability Interviews with sixteen key stakeholders revealed a range of familiarity with the concept of amenity migration and considerable knowledge about economic, social and environmental consequences The concept of amenity migration was not used in RMOW and regional planning strategies and practices, raising some question about its conceptualization A major effect of amenity migration was the lack of affordable housing, with subsequent local and regional effects Significant planning measures perceived as effective included the Whistler Housing Authority, Vision 2020 and a regional growth strategy, currently under development.

The LSD is not so important for continous use application, but the batteries are of high quality and versitile. Most battery people are recommending one step up in a charger.įor a scanner that was being used exclusively from batteries wuth a high duty cycle i'd opt for a couple sets of regular eneloop over the pros and keep an extra charged set. It would be better with todays batteries if the charger defaulted to 500mAh for easier plug and play. The charger defaults to 200mAh and that's too slow for most people with current batteries and may be a problem with older batteries that are not maintained causing missed termination. For just regular people though that just want to recharge their batteries the 700 is good as long as they can get the batteries in there fast enough and remember to hit the button to change the charge current to 500mAh. Technically though some of my other chargers are better according to several tests by professionals, and can offer more analysis features.

The lacrosse 700 charger is one of my main chargers in the past i'd buy them in kits for $24-26. I'm not a heavy flash user though so they support my use-case perfectly.

The newer LSD batteries like the eneloop are more useful in a wider variety of applications. If the application fits, the price is right. If you have high drain and continous use they would be a good choice. The powerex 2700mAh are ok, but depends on application.
